Vichy is a brand name known world-wide for its mineral and thermal waters, cosmetics and pastilles. Building on its great thermal tradition, the Vichy area soon started to diversify into other sectors based around the health and cosmetics industries, and more recently, the fitness and sports industries.
For the Vichy Val d'Allier local council, the Biopark is its flagship for the Health, Beauty and Fitness sector, with over 80 companies and 2 000 jobs in the local area.
Since 2001, with the opening of the Vichy University Technology Centre, the companies in the Health, Beauty and Fitness sector have been able to avail themselves of local training and expertise which corresponds to their requirements.
45 hectares are available for development in the Biopark, which itself constitutes one of the 6 business parks in the Vichy Val d'Allier council area, out of the dozen or so spread across the whole department of the Allier.
